Memorial Day Photo Contest. The photo, “Flags-In, Memorial Day,” submitted by Amber Knickman of Morrisville, PA, was by far the fan favorite receiving the top number of votes.

 

Both professional and amateur photographers were invited to participate in the contest. Entries were required to be taken in a United States’ cemetery and convey the meaning and emotion associated with Memorial Day. Evaluating the entries on the basis of creativity, photo quality, and emotion, a panel of judges selected fifteen (15) finalists from the pool of photos that were submitted. The general public was then invited to vote for their favorites among the finalists.

By highlighting the way we pay tribute to those we have lost, we keep our heroes front and center in our minds. The winning photo certainly embodies our goals for the contest.
