Chinese Wake Rituals

Does anyone know the proper way to have a wake for a traditional Chinese family when the body is lost or missing?

We consulted with two funeral homes that specialize in handling arrangements for Chinese families. According to what we found out, there are no special considerations when the body is not available.
Instead of holding a funeral you would hold a memorial service. Any customs that are followed when there is a body present would be followed for the memorial service.
