Throw Your Own Great Funeral on ‘Create a Great Funeral Day’ Oct. 30
Inspired by the movie “Get Low,” Funeralwise.com’s sweepstakes
and survey offers funeral planning prizes
Chicago, IL, October 18, 2010 — Funeralwise.com suggests individuals think about throwing their own funeral on Saturday, October 30, the 11th annual Create a Great Funeral Day. To help, Funeralwise.com is offering free funeral planning and cash prizes to survey participants who share their views about “living” funeral services.
The sweepstakes and survey is inspired by the recently released film Get Low, starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek, which tells the true story of a Depression-era man who threw himself a funeral party while he was still alive, so he could hear what people would say about him.
Rick Paskin, co-founder of Funeralwise.com, says, “Most people are reluctant to think about their own funeral much less plan it in advance. Planning a funeral ahead of time is a sensible thing to do, and this sweepstakes and survey will help get people thinking about and envisioning what kind of funeral they might like. We then make it easy for them to plan that funeral.”
The sweepstakes survey will ask the following questions and others:
- Would you like to attend your own funeral if you could?
- Would you consider throwing yourself a funeral before you die?
- Have you wondered who would come to your funeral?
- What kind of funeral would you prefer – a somber traditional funeral, an upbeat celebration of life, or no funeral at all?
The Funeralwise.com “Create a Great Funeral Day Sweepstakes” is available to U.S. residents, ages 35 and older. Go to funeralwise.com/great-funeral-sweepstakes for details and to enter.
