    I want to send a donation to the charity requested in the obituary. Do I give it with a card to the family, or donate it directly to the charity?

    You would send the donation directly to the charity specified in the obituary. Most charities are set up to accept memorial donations, and the charity will notify the family that you have made a donation in honor of their loved one.
